'Salome' deconstructed crinoline turban headpiece
The 'Salome' is a deconstructed play on the lines and shapes in the various incarnations of turbans throughout art and fashion history. The piece is made by sewing the connections in the winding of crinoline to build the structure for the base and top knot. I have sewn vintage gold painted beads on each side of the base as a nod to the gilt touched paintings of Salome in Art History.
